Reading

WALT:

I am learning to share my reading with an audience. I need to use a big voice and read like I am talking.

SUCCESS CRITERIA:


I can read books to the class using a big voice so they can listen to my story.

I liked reading to the class because it makes me feel special.

Music

WALT Sing our songs for production.
We have learned about how to sit up straight and how to use our mouths to make our singing nice and loud.

SUCCESS CRITERIA
We will know we have succeded when we can sing our songs with energy and enthusiasm.


TEACHER COMMENT
We are sounding better every time we come to singing and we know most of the words of the songs for production. Great singing Room 21 – can’t wait to see you all at production!






Discovery

I am making a robot. I am working with Bailey to make it.


 WALT:
We are learning to develop the 5 key competencies through activity based learning. We are learning to be Self Managed, use our Thinking, Use language, symbols and text, Participate and Contribute and Relate to Others.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: We will show the key competencies throughout discovery time.

Gymnastics

This week at gymnastics we moved our bodies like different animals. We then practised the rolls we learned last week - the hedgehog roll and the pencil roll. 

After this we made a sequence with a shape at the beginning and the end with a roll in the middle. The children really enjoyed this and gave each other feedback on things they liked about the sequences and how they could improve. 

Ask your child to show you the different shapes they can make and rolls they can do.





WALT:

We are learning to make different shapes with our bodies. The shapes we are making are pikes, tucks, stretch and straddle. 
We are learning to make a sequence using shapes and rolls.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: Make a sequence using different shapes and rolls.


TEACHER COMMENT: You are getting really good at the different rolls and shapes that we have been practising. Keep up the good work!

Measurement

This week we were measuring our height using pieces of string and then ordering them.

  • measure length with non-standard units
